A Scrima supporter’s laments
Our friend George has the letter to the editor from Tom Quinn, a former supporter of Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima, that appeared in the Waukesha Freeman this morning. Interestingly, Quinn says of the fifteen “smart people” in the room four years ago, only three still continue to support the mayor.
I had to laugh at this:
I was introduced to Shawn Reilly last summer and have been able to get to know him and his family. I find him to be serious minded yet a fun part of a large family and a doting father of two teenage daughters. He has 22 years of experience in the practice of municipal law. A known commodity, he is a willing and long-term volunteer to charitable and civic activities. He is Jim Wigderson’s worst nightmare, a mayor who will just go to work and effectively do the job.
I’ve been asked quite a few times what I’ll do if Scrima loses, including by my daughter. Now that Darryl Enriquez is leaving the Waukesha Freeman, I’ll have a monopoly on the charcoal grill vs. natural gas debate, the city’s fire pit ordinance still needs to be changed, there will probably be a primary in the 97th Assembly district, and the Town of Waukesha is just wacko. Sounds like plenty to write about.
