Alderman Paul Furrer not running for re-election
WAUKESHA – The dumb barber jokes will end in April as Alderman Paul Furrer, a barber, will not seek re-election this spring.
Furrer is the alderman for District 6. Furrer officially announced Tuesday night that he would not run for the position.
Furrer voted against adoption of the operating budget last night. It’s fair to say that the alderman added a few moments of color to often dull proceedings, and he certainly asked many questions that his constituents asked him.
A classic Furrer moment was when he took it upon himself to read aloud a letter from the council to the DNR in regards to Waukesha’s water application.
Furrer was appointed to fill a vacancy in 2006, the first alderman to be appointed after background checks were instituted following the Glenn Savoie fiasco.
