Any news is better than no news?

Received an e-mail today from Chip Englander, campaign manager for the Neumann campaign, touting this article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. If this is the best press Neumann can point to, he is in real trouble.

Walker could further shore up support with the Republican Party endorsement, which would let him tap funds the state party receives from the Republican National Committee.

Walker has spent more than two years cultivating support around the state at events large and small. He has been to every county Republican Party’s Lincoln Day dinner at least once in the past two years, his campaign says.

“I think that Scott Walker has done a better job of reaching out, recruiting and organizing the tea party movement,” said Mark Block, state director in Wisconsin for Americans for Prosperity, the organization responsible for rallies across the state.

Neumann said he hasn’t spent his time courting Republicans regulars.

“This is clearly an insider-outsider matchup,” he said.

Yeah, Walker’s support inside the party matches up well with his support outside the party. I’m still looking for Neumann’s support.

As long as we’re on the subject, an endorsement four years in the making should happen this afternoon at 3:00 PM. Scott Walker is having a press conference with former Congressman Mark Green, the Republican candidate for governor in 2006.
