Are you angry yet?
Waukesha Freeman columnist Pete Kennedy asks if Waukesha is getting angrier?
Surprisingly, some members of the all-anger team say we’re not. The majority of the public isn’t angry, said local blogger and Freeman columnist James Wigderson. “It’s a small group of (Mayor Jeff) Scrima supporters who are very frustrated,” he said. They thought the mayor had more power, and didn’t find out that wasn’t the case until after Scrima took office, Wigderson said.
He has a front-line view as a blogger who focuses a great deal of attention on local politics. He’s seen the public riled before, and now is not such a time, he said.
“If there had been real anger, you would see a large group of people” getting involved, he said. He used the proposed changes at Frame Park as an example. “With Frame Park, there were people lined up out the door” to address the council.
Now there is a smaller group of people who are really angry. “It just seems like there’s a huge anger deal with a few people,” he said.
Maybe it’s just me. I know I’m just a big matzo ball of love, but I just don’t see hate, anger and bitterness except in interviews of Senator Russ Feingold.
Pete does a good job of canvassing the experts and even asks the mayor. I suspect his column will inspire a few more heated Sound Off calls to the Waukesha Freeman.
