Betting it all on red (states)
Wayne Allyn Root, libertarian and famous Las Vegas oddsmaker, is doubling down on a Mitt Romney landslide:
Today I’m making it official:
I’m doubling down. Mitt Romney will win the presidency, and it won’t be close.
I’m predicting a 5 to 7 point popular vote victory. Electorally it won’t even be that close. Romney will win many states that went to Obama in 2008. I’m predicting Romney victories in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Indiana. I predict a Romney victory by 100 to 120 electoral votes.
Intrade is putting Obama at over 62% likely to win re-election, so a Romney bet could be a good wager at this time, since Romney is likely to move up in the Intrade market as we get closer to election day, if Root is correct.
Of course, all of this is speculative, and it’s wrong, very wrong, to gamble on presidential elections.
As we get closer to election day perhaps I’ll consult my bookie friend, Jimmy Irish, to see what he thinks.
