Circles of death
I am no longer in the anti-roundabout camp. It’s not because I find them that much more convenient than four-way stops. It’s not that I think Wisconsin drivers are finally learning how to drive through them.
But Wisconsin drivers don’t know how to drive through four-way stops, so what difference does it make? Everyday I find myself waiting for some idiot at a four-way stop sign who isn’t paying attention and have no idea who should go first. With all of the cell-phone use, we might as well send these idiots into the vehicular Thunderdomes*. And if some idiot comes to a complete stop before entering a roundabout, what have we lost?
* “Two cars enter, one car leaves.”
