Farmers Market in Waukesha

The weather remained pleasant long enough this morning for my daughter and I to meet with friends for breakfast down at the Farmers Market. We had the Lobster Eggs Benedict and my daughter had the cinnamon roll at Key Westconsin. I was disappointed not to see the crab cakes on the breakfast menu on the chalk board, but I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict. I suggest if you don’t like runny yolks, you’re better off requesting scrambled eggs like the table next to us. They also had the sliders that looked really good. I was disappointed, too, to see the Bloody Mary’s did not include shrimp, something I would have expected as a given at a seafood restaurant.

The patio dining was nice and it was great to meet some of the people there who enjoy my column and read my website.

My daughter and I strolled a bit through the market after breakfast. Plenty to see, and plenty of people there to see the market, too. The nice part about the market is the accessibility by car downtown. There’s plenty of parking there and very close by, something very important in car-driving Waukesha. While the side street along the river is partially closed for the market, main street is still open making the market easy to get to.
