Find out who is going to pay for Tom Barrett’s sweet ride

3

The following is a letter from Brett Healy of the MacIver Institute regarding the proposed Milwaukee Streetcar Project. Healy explains how you can help find out if WE Energy customers from around the state will have to help pay for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s streetcar dream.

Dear Friend,

As you may know, I have petitioned the Public Service Commission, as a WE Energy customer, to answer the question if it is legal to have ratepayers throughout southeast Wisconsin pay for the over $70 million dollars in unnecessary infrastructure work to make way for the Milwaukee Streetcar project.

I believe that it is wrong to force utility ratepayers to pay for such a parochial project that will do nothing to better our regional transportation system.

But I need your help.  State law requires my petition to be signed by a group of 25 individuals in order for it have legal standing at the Public Service Commission.

If you are willing to help me stop ratepayers throughout southeastern Wisconsin from being forced to pay for this pork project, please email Stacy at Stacy@will-law.org with your name, address, and telephone number so we can get you the necessary paperwork right away.

An experienced team of lawyers from the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty is already on board and providing their services to us free of charge.  There will be no cost to you.

I have only to May 4th to gather additional signatures or my petition will be thrown out and all of us will be forced to pay for the Streetcar through higher electric bills.  Please respond as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and your consideration.
