Grading the Waukesha schools report card

The MacIver Institute did an analysis of the grading of the Waukesha School District by the state Department of Public Instruction (DPI). They discovered good news, that no school is failing. And they found bad news, that no school is exceeding expectations. The district as a whole earned a solid C grade, using the numbers from the DPI.

I took another look at the numbers and graded the grading done by DPI. While just getting DPI to grade the schools is an improvement, the state DPI’s grading criteria still earns a D, meaning they need improvement if parents are going to find any meaningful information in the DPI numbers.
