I know what the Scrima for Mayor campaign is doing this weekend
Or at least what they should be doing. Hopefully this is the last time that I play yard sign cop this campaign.
The Scrima campaign is going to be going from one end of the city to the other looking for their yard signs and putting little disclaimers on them. If you notice in the picture, there is no, “Authorized and paid for by the Scrima for Mayor campaign…”
Man, that’s just gotta suck.
Instead of doing whatever it is the Scrima for Mayor campaign does with its time, they need to put disclaimers on their signs lest they get fined for each and every one of them. And then, their campaign lawyer or treasurer is going to have to call District Attorney Brad Schimel on Monday to self-report the campaign violation. They might want to do it in person, and bring the checkbook along.
While they’re out there this weekend, the Scrima campaign can pick up the signs that are illegally placed in the right-of-ways and medians.Be kind of silly to put the disclaimers on those signs, because leaving the signs there with the new disclaimers would just open the campaign up to a whole bunch of municipal citations for illegal sign placement. Hard to claim it’s “overenthusiastic volunteers” if the campaign just leaves them there.
Why, yes, I do find this mildly amusing.
