I love the nightlife. I’ve got to boogie.
I noticed last night that we need to get the bartender at D Mo’s a “Getting Wiggy With It” coffee mug to go with his WackySha coffee mug.
Last night the Lovely Doreen from Waukesha and I took a little trip to downtown Waukesha where the nightlife is getting better all the time. The Lonely Hearts was playing at D Mo’s in the Clarke Hotel and the usual suspects turned out: George and Rachel Wang (of the Waukesha Tattoo Company), writer and fellow Waukesha Freeman columnist Darryl Enriquez, Tom and Vicky Hekkers, Curt Otto (of Otto’s Fine Arts Academy), others to whom I apologize for forgetting your names. On the other hand, you’ve just avoided guilt by association.
(I should really set my cell phone to record conversations.)
Doreen and I got to meet Chef Tony Hernandez. He told Doreen about Chef Josie Smith-Malave‘s upcoming stint at D Mo’s in September. With any luck we’ll score an invite to the opening night reception on September 7th. Maybe if I keep praising the gyros at Pita and Pan (now reopening)…
By the way, if you missed The Lonely Hearts last night, they are at the Magellan’s stage at Freeman Friday Night Live tonight. Look, the BoDeans have split up (more or less) so you gotta find something else to do.
