I think a different lesson was learned

State Treasurer Dawn Marie Sass celebrated Higher Education Day on Wednesday by announcing some contests:

A coloring contest for 1st-3rd grade students, an essay contest for 4th-6th grade students and the Higher Education Dayvideo contest for 7th through 10th grade students. Each contest winner will receive an EdVest college savings account.

I would suspect Sass will get to judge the coloring contest. No word yet which Sass relative will judge the other contests since her office is so short-handed.

I bet it will inspire real confidence in the prize-winners knowing that Sass is in charge of administering their newly-won EdVest accounts.

On the other hand, just think how inspiring it is for those kids to know that, no matter how unqualified or incompetent they may be, they, too, can grow up to be State Treasurer.
