The Congdon question for Waukesha voters
There is a reason city voters rejected Rick Congdon in 2010 when he was running for re-election as a Doyle-appointed judge. The voters of the city are largely Republican, and they vote accordingly. So no, it’s not surprising that the former Chairman of the Waukesha County Democratic Party signed a recall petition, but it is definitely worth mentioning, and it will be interesting to see if Congdon can do better than the 36% of the vote in the city of Waukesha he received in 2010.
His involvement in some of the controversies around Mayor Jeff Scrima (Scrima gave Congdon a key to the city in 2012) probably won’t help Congdon’s chances.
Congdon’s opponent is local attorney Brian Running who declared his candidacy before the incumbent Curt Meitz announced his retirement.
