An endorsement that won’t play well in a swing district
Politicians can’t always control who endorses them. However, they can control who they endorse.
State Senator Jim Sullivan might live to regret this endorsement. Fresh from her speaking engagement at the very left-wing “Fighting Bob Fest”, Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton announced yesterday Sullivan endorsed her for governor:
”Barbara Lawton has my full support for governor,” said Senator Sullivan.
Lawton may end up proving too liberal for Wauwatosa’s Democratic voters in the primary, let alone the voters in a general election. Endorsing her, and endorsing her early as he has, is not going to make any claims of being a moderate very plausible.

You gotta get With It !
The person who says they aren’t voting for Sullivan cause of who he endorsed?
You have a better chance of hitting the powerball than finding that person!

Oh, Billy, Billy, Billy. This is a biggie! Dont let me down, Billy!
It’s not a matter that this would be the sole reason, but it’s part of a pattern that is definitely going to emerge of a candidate that is more liberal than the image he wishes to project and certainly more liberal than the district.
Seriously, is this the candidate with whom he wants to pose? Seriously?

I’m With Billy on This one.
What is the downside for the average voter of Sullivan hanging with Lawton?
She’s a woman with zero negatives…cause she hasn’t done anything!!
granted the insiders know she’s way left…but they weren’t ever gonna vote for her anyways.
this might bring some indy woman who were looking at leah to the sullivan side.
Really not that big a deal in any way though.
