Around the web

2

Owen Robinson calls BS on the school lunch program numbers.  I always liked the mock chicken legs.

The Appleton Post-Crescent (aka, the Appleton Half-Moon) lists the problems at the state treasurer’s office, but stops short of suggesting Sass should be removed.

Rick Esenberg tackles the Gableman question, is it enough not to lie?  We’ll see if a state supreme court justice is held to a higher standard than the President.

The Wisconsin State Journal calls for the repeal of the minimum mark-up law.  Do it for grandma.

Waukesha County wants us to “learn about fall prevention this autumn.”  If it’s autumn, isn’t it already too late to stop fall?

Some college professor agrees with me about The Abortionist.

Patrick at the Badger Blogger has the videos from Saturday’s Tea Party protest in the comments.  I understand no tea was actually spilled as part of the production.

Fred at Real Debate discovers environmentalists no longer poop in the woods with the bears.

The MacIver Institute notes Senator Feingold may not vote for a bad bill for really bad reasons.  And he’s just obnoxious enough not to do it, too.  Which would be a good thing.  I think.

One of Ann Althouse’s commenters, William, just punctures the balloon of any John Edwards partisan left to defend the cad.  Memo to other would-be-cads: You can do better than the Dave Matthews Band.

Finally, the Weekly Standard’s blog gives readers the Irving Kristol reading list.

  1. John Foust says:

Glenn F. suggests Walgreens is hallowed ground for Brady Street liberals. He must’ve been thinking of the Oriental Pharmacy. Either way, it’s obvious the economic civil war continues, if only in his mind.

While Esenberg mulls whether Supreme Court candidates can lie, another MU law blogger even worries whether baby lawyers have too much free speech on the Facebooks.

I watched some of the Tea Party videos. If I were a Republican watching lefties yell like that, I’d be obliged to say “Why so angry? Where’s your plan?” So do you think the Tea Parties are non-partisan events, or are they only raging about Democrat-fueled spending? Because I’ve seen more videos that talk about the need to vote the Democrats out of office than I’ve seen videos that say we need to vote out Republicans, too. Because if we vote out all the incumbent bums, who takes their place? And more importantly, where do you stand on circumcision?

I loved the mock chicken legs, too. I think school districts go hunting for any source of subsidy when pressured by reductions in state funding. What, you didn’t think there would be consequences of those supposed tax-reducing measures? You’re not going to be able to drown the babies in the bathtub if their overseers are allowed to drill more drains.

But I think William was a parody commenter. And if anyone within the sound of my voice knows how to reach the person who has failed to maintain Altmouse.com, please contact me.

    James Wigderson Reply:

On male circumcision in general, I have mixed feelings. However, I strongly believe that it should be performed no more than once.
