Will Mary Hubler believe Jeff Wood is guilty now?

3

As you may have heard over the weekend, State Representative Jeff Wood tried to avoid responsibility for his conduct once again by attempting to pull the bill calling for his expulsion for consideration late Thursday night. The bill’s author, Representative Steven Nass, was absent attending a wake for his mother. Wood was hoping to take advantage of that and trying to time consideration of any discipline for him before he plead no contest for his third drunk driving arrest, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

Democrats rallied to Wood’s side and tried to force consideration on Wood’s timetable, hoping to keep his one vote in the legislature as long as possible. Their effort, thankfully, failed, but not before State Representative Pedro Colon made himself look like a complete ass.

That plea came today, and Wood was sentenced to 45 days in jail. State Representative Mary Hubler claimed her opposition to expelling Wood was because he had not been convicted of anything yet. Now he has, and I’m sure Hubler will gladly speak out and demand Wood either resign from the Assembly or get kicked out.

Or is Wood correct and saying that it’s all just politics, only it’s the Democrats playing politics with protecting a drunk driver to keep that one more vote hanging around?

It’s time for the Assembly to show some basic decency and expel Jeff Wood.

Will we then see a rush of bills before the end of session to expel for various other moral inadequacies?

Of course it’s all political. It was political when WisGOP let Wood switch sides and it’s political now, both that the Dems want him in and the GOP wants him out. That’s why Assemblymen should be shielded from this kind of crud. There’s a mechanism in place to get Wood out of office. Let it work.

I can only get rid of one degenerate Democratic sympathizer at a time.
