Patrick McIlheran names Scrima “Loser of the Week”

4

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel opinion writer Patrick McIlheran, appearing as a panelist on Charlie Sykes’ Sunday Insight this morning, named Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima the “Loser of the Week.”  It came during the final segment of the show when each of the show’s panelists are asked to name their winners and losers of the week.

McIlheran named Scrima the loser because of his opposition to Waukesha’s application for Great Lakes Water, saying Scrima needed to rely upon the experts rather than his own guesses.

McIlheran wrote most recently about Waukesha’s water troubles on his blog back on July 6th.  In the blog post, McIlheran pointed out the absurdity of hoping Waukesha’s neighbors will just go along with a plan to dig more shallow wells.

See, here’s the thing: this water fight has been couched as a liberal vs. conservative thing and I don’t really think it is. When Patrick McIlheran is for something, it can’t be a crazy lefty idea.

You’re right Kristin – it is not a party line thing at all. I think that all got mixed up in it because of Jeff vs Larry in the mayoral election.

  3. John Foust says:

And his winner was Gableman? He found a loophole!

  4. Jeff says:

This sure has made some interesting bedfellows. Scrima who ran as a conservative is on the same page as James Rowan, a liberal. Patrick McIlheran & Widgerson are on the same page as me and I am fairly liberal.
