More transparency from our mayor
I like to think that I’m a positive person, and I’m positive that the mayor’s not very “transparent.”

Subject: Wigderson attacks Gibson GuitarTown ProjectTeam,
Blogger James Wigderson is making inquiries into the Gibson GuitarTown Project for the purpose of causing trouble.
If he contacts you, please refer him to our Chairman and Attorney Rick Congdon.
Thank you

Note, this was from Mayor Jeff Scrima prior to my first blog post on the GuitarTown project and prior to his email to Meghan Sprager, the executive director of the BID, telling her not to be so cooperative with me.
As for “Wigderson attacks,” the only thing I’ve really attacked so far is the secrecy and paranoia surrounding this project. The mayor’s determination to obstruct any inquiries into the GuitarTown project is the biggest threat to the project, one that could be great for our community. At least now the public can see that it is the mayor’s own paranoia that is fueling the divisions downtown.

If I’m following your logic, this means FitzWalkerstan is in hot water, and their paranoia is fueling divisions in Madison, right?
I thought you attacked Scrima’s questionable funding path for the guitars. Not that I know much about Waukesha. I go downtown once in a while for chocolate and gelato. Is there other stuff to do there?

Allo Chocolat will be happy to hear that. Yes, downtown Waukesha is a wonderful place to visit. We have some very nice restaurants, antiques, art galleries, a great cigar bar called Nice Ash, coffee shops, and more. I love downtown Waukesha and all of the changes. Anyone who wants a tour of downtown on a Saturday, I would be more than happy to lead it. Or better yet, I’ll find someone more qualified than me to lead it. Just let me know.
And it’s not just downtown, too. We really do live in a great city. I also see the potential for great leadership in our city institutions. Unfortunately, we just have a rotten apple at the top right now.
“…for the purpose of causing trouble…”
The mayor doesn’t get nearly enough credit for being as entertaining as he is.

It would’ve been much more funny if he was out-of-state when he said that, while suggesting that all his enemies were from out-of-state.
