Local campaign season again

Take heart. If the nomination papers are circulating, spring cannot be too far behind.

Steve Edlund, candidate for Waukesha school board, just stopped by the house for a couple of signatures on his nomination papers. He said he was working the Phoenix Hts neighborhood. He has a pretty simple campaign theme – the school board is raising our taxes by over 10%. If Edlund wins, I promise to publish where you can send an open records request.

Meanwhile, Darryl Enriquez, candidate for Waukesha mayor, is formally kicking off his campaign at Sprizzo Gallery Caffé, 363 W. Main St., Waukesha, on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. $25 minimum donation requested. Is the former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel writer ready to be asked questions instead of doing the asking?

Incumbent Mayor Larry Nelson formally kicked off his campaign last month at the Clarke Hotel. He’s obviously hoping to do better than they are.
