Maybe Jeff Scrima is lying about his age

I had to laugh when I saw this. Apparently young people should fill out their absentee ballots for Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima because he is so young. This was posted in the Scrima Facebook group (hidden from public view) to push absentee ballots:

how old is jeff

“He’s super young for a mayor, loves people, and frankly doesn’t care about politics or taking sides.”

Setting aside the idea that Scrima loves people or that he doesn’t take sides, “super young for a mayor?”

That’s almost as funny as the time Scrima e-mailed Charlie Sykes offering to explain Generation X and youth politics.

Scrima is 36 years old. He doesn’t even make the list of young mayors.

To put Scrima’s age into perspective, New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady is 36. That’s starting to get old in the NFL and counting the days to retirement. Congressman Paul Ryan was 28 when he was elected to the House of Representatives. Governor Scott Walker was 35 when he was elected as Milwaukee County Executive.

The median age for American men is 36.3 years old. That makes him the definition of middle age. At his age most men have moved out of their parents’ homes, got married, started raising a family, and are looking forward to their mid-life crisis.

Let’s not confuse immaturity with youth.

I wonder if Scrima took down the infamous wall chart indicating how long he has left to live?
