More Catholic than the Pope
Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has a new book out and is out on the publicity tour. Good luck to her, and I hope she sells lots of books. However, I don’t expect it to be a favorite of Catholic Books and Gifts if she persists on trying to judge the Pope’s politics.
“He’s had some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me,” the tea party favorite said of the religious leader, who last month reportedly referred to “ideological Christians” as “an illness.”
“[But] unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media,” added Palin, whose new book, “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas,” was released Tuesday.
I agree with Palin. Until she does her homework, she should probably refrain on commenting on matters regarding the Catholic Church.
