More on the pitbull story

The Waukesha Freeman reported today that the dog has been trouble before, chasing a neighborhood child. We could have been discussing an entirely different situation had the dog  been successful in catching the child. On the other hand, if the dog had not attacked the owner, how long before it would have attacked someone else? Maybe a different neighborhood child?

I did some digging and discovered the house was purchased last November for $199,000 and was assessed in 2009 at $240,800. The home is typical of the neighborhood so it’s not like there is a dramatic need for guard dogs. I wonder how the neighbors felt when their new neighbor moved in with a pair of pitbulls?

I wonder how the owner feels now about owning a pitbull now?

By the way, I found this picture on the internet. Does it make you nervous?

Does this make you nervous?

Also: Some thoughtful comments on my column over at Too Kool. My favorite: “I guess I agree with Wigderson (good god, this {is} happening way too much recently).”
