My son’s science homework

1

I’m helping my son with his science homework. This is the question and how he answered it.

You and millions of other units of energy are landing on the earth from the sun. Trace your paths through the ecosystem you have landed in. Be sure to use the terms producer, consumer, herbivore, carnivore, omnivore, decomposer, food chain and food web in your story. Ultimately, where and in what form do you all end up?

We come to the Earth at 186,000 miles per second. We feed the plants, producers, through photosynthesis. The plants produce the oxygen that enables animals to live. Plant eating animals known as herbivores eat the plants. Carnivores are meat eaters. They eat the herbivores. Omnivores eat both plants and animals. When plants and animals die, they decompose. Worms are decomposers that live off of dead plants and animal matter. They provide nutrients that feed the plants. Worms are food for animals. The light ends up being digested. The future of solar energy is poop.
