Obama endorses conspiracy-theorist Andrew Sullivan
When asked by Rolling Stone who he likes to read, President Barack Obama praised conspiracy-theorist Andrew Sullivan:
There are a handful of blogs, Andrew Sullivan’s on the Daily Beast being an example, that combine thoughtful analysis with a sampling of lots of essays that are out there.
I’ve written about Sullivan before in this space. Sullivan is pushing a conspiracy theory that Sarah Palin’s daughter Trig is actually her granddaughter. Sullivan also believes Palin was “indoctrinated by Joe Lieberman and AIPAC.”
Interestingly, Sullivan’s big issue is gay marriage, and Obama is on record as opposed to gay marriage. But Sullivan has been a guest at the White House. Was Obama’s mention of Sullivan a “dog-whistle” (humor intended) to the gay community, and does Sullivan feel used?
