Pasch web tangles some more
So what do we know? We know that Wisconsin Jobs Now! was running a probably illegal get-out-the-vote effort for State Rep. Sandy Pasch (D-Whitefish Bay), using food and raffle prizes as inducements to vote. We know that Wisconsin Jobs Now! and Citizen Action share the same phone number and the same address, and that the political director of Citizen Action Matthew Brusky is also the treasurer of Wisconsin Jobs Now!. We also know that Pasch sits on the Board of Directors of Citizen Action, a tie that even the sleepy editorialists of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel* could not ignore.
Now Media Trackers, through an open records request, found e-mails from Robert Kraig, executive director of Citizen Action, sent to Pasch’s official e-mail account asking the board members (like Pasch) to consider candidate endorsements. The e-mails also include an exchange between a Pasch staff member and Citizen Action about a media effort well after Pasch declared her candidacy in the recall election.
By the way, it was really interesting to watch the reaction of Citizen Action when WTMJ-TV news showed up at their door last night.
At what point in this scandal do we add the -gate suffix?
Update! Media Trackers has more on Jackie Boynton, campaign treasurer for Sandy Pasch and… Citizen Action.
* What kind of newspaper actually puts into an editorial, “We’ll take them at their word.”? Seriously?
