Peg stepping down as AG

State Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager is apparently stepping down and planning to run for the state legislature. She must be very unhappy with her current job since she refuses to do it and doesn’t believe in enforcing the laws we have.

So today her office released a list of bills she would like to support if she gets into the legislature. It’ll be a natural fit for her, since she claims to know better than the legislature how they should do their job.

No word yet whether she’s planning on running for the State Senate or the State Assembly, but given today’s press release she’s clearly not running for State Attorney General.

Update! Peg Lautenschlager and I aren’t the only ones confused about which office she’s running for.

Jenna at Right off the Shore:

For the thousandth time: if she would like to write the law, or have a role in passing legislation, she has every right to quit her job and run for Assembly, Senate, or Congress.

JB Van Hollen:

“Peg’s been asleep at the wheel at the Department of Justice,” said JB Van Hollen, Republican candidate for Attorney General. “But her press release today reads like an announcement for a legislative candidate, which may explain why she has been so delinquent on leading the fight against crime here in Wisconsin.”
