Prosser’s primary victory could keep outside money out
State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser’s commanding victory in Tuesday’s primary election could freeze out the outside spending typical in state supreme court races. Prosser received 55% of the votes in the four-way primary, while his nearest opponent JoAnne Kloppenburg was only able to get 25% of the vote.
For liberal groups, it is going to be hard to justify spending the kind of money needed to help Kloppenburg win when she is such a long shot at this point. On the flip side, conservative groups may hold back a bit thinking Prosser should easily coast to victory.
