So, where was I?

Lest any rumors start about my disappearance the last few days, I was at a Webelos Scout camping trip at Camp Long Lake.

The Taj Ma Tent

Despite the size of the tent, we still could have used more room:

Just four boys this time. The kids learned about geology, forestry, and farting. They also got to shoot pellet guns, use bows and arrows, and throw tomahawks (hatchets, not missiles).

No scout leader was harmed for this photo

The weather was pretty good, the mosquitos weren’t terrible, and the food was mostly edible. The company of friends was outstanding.

I think the camp was grateful this was our last year, but if the boys decide to move on to Boy Scouts…

While we were there, I learned something interesting about the camp that will be of interest to fans of Waukesha history. Camp Long Lake was made possible partially by a grant from Scout Troop 9 from Waukesha.
