Some elections never end
I have bad news for Waukesha Democrats living in the 33rd Assembly District. The bathroom may still be a bit primitive (see the porta-potty on the left side of the picture), but State Representative Scott Newcomer’s home is almost inhabitable, even as it remains uninhabited. He even has a mailbox out front.
According to the latest listing from the state election board, Newcomer will be facing Gilbert Yerke in the Republican Primary and Thomas Radosevich is the Democrat running. Neither candidate is listed as having turned in their nomination signatures yet (as of 12:00pm). (They have until 5:00pm today.)
I’ll make the bold prediction Newcomer will win re-election pretty easily.
Of course, I had to laugh, laugh, laugh, when I learned he endorsed County Supervisor Bill Kramer over Waukesha Taxpayer League President Chris Lufter in the 97th assembly Republican primary. The Taxpayer League had backed Newcomer’s primary opponent, Troy Fullerton, in the special election last fall. Fullerton was the Republican candidate that attacked Newcomer’s residency question the hardest. It’s a small world after all.
