In the world of competing open records requests, WISN’s Mark Belling reported first about Waukesha City Attorney Brian Running’s concerns about a proposed loan from the city of Waukesha to the Sunset Homes condominium board. I’m also reporting on the email in my column in tomorrow’s Waukesha Freeman, which was written yesterday. Since my column […]

Waukesha Freeman 12/31/14 Page A7 Opinion A look back at the year that was Walker, Kramer were big political stories; lots of turnover in local politics When the old year passes, sometimes it’s with regret and sometimes it’s with joy. As we gather to toast the new year and drink away the old, it’s worth […]

Last week over at RightWisconsin.com, I warned conservatives not to neglect the city attorney race in Waukesha. Local attorney Brian Running is taking on former Jim Doyle judicial appointment Richard Congdon. Current city attorney Curt Meitz is not running for re-election after serving 28 years. He announced his intention not to seek re-election after getting […]

Waukesha Freeman Page A5 Opinion 2/20/2014  Game on  Scrima, Congdon behind already Tuesday night’s election results came with an interesting surprise. California recently refused to grant a license to practice law in that state to Stephen Glass because they felt he had a reputation for dishonesty. Imagine what they would think of Wiesmueller.

“No fist is big enough to hide the sky.”- West African proverb Over at RightWisconsin, I commented on the race for Waukesha City Attorney and urged a vote for Brian Running to kill the possibility of former Judge Rick Congdon facing off against a terribly flawed Chris Wiesmueller in the general election. Here’s an excerpt: […]

Waukesha Freeman 01/09/2014, Page A05 Choices, choices for city attorney Two candidates carry baggage with them The race for city attorney in Waukesha presents city residents an interesting choice. For the first time in many years, local voters will have a choice in choosing the right person in what many consider a largely administrative position. […]

Last night the Common Council put the mayor’s appointments for the Landmarks Commission on hold, not rejected as I reported before. Brian Running withdrew his name. The other two appointees were James Healy and Adam Neylon. Adam Neylon works for Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, was the Republican Party of Waukesha County youth coordinator, and is a […]
