Publication:Waukesha Freeman (Conley); Date:Feb 16, 2012; Section:Opinion; Page Number:6A Cub Scouts offer lessons for father and son   It’s probably not a shock to most of you that I am not a Scouting type of guy. I’m not a fan of the wilderness. I don’t like camping. To me, roughing it is attending an opera […]

At the 49th Annual city of Waukesha Christmas parade, the float built by Cub Scut Pack 9 won first place in the Community Groups category. The “Candy Tron 2000” spit fire, smoked, shot confetti, and produced peppermint candy for the scouts to hand to the crowd. Congratulations to the scouts and parents of Pack 9! […]

Lest any rumors start about my disappearance the last few days, I was at a Webelos Scout camping trip at Camp Long Lake. Despite the size of the tent, we still could have used more room: Just four boys this time. The kids learned about geology, forestry, and farting. They also got to shoot pellet […]

My son the Tigerscout just got his pinewood derby car kit and the rules for the pinewood derby race. I’ve got the instructions, the pinewood car kit, the rules for racing the car… but where’s the betting form? How close to post time can I lay a wager? Heck, where do I place the wager? […]
