Talk radio weighs in on Rosner and Clarke and Perry and Obama

It’s the gift that keeps on giving to Scott Allen. On Wednesday, Charlie Sykes on WTMJ made a verbal jab at Brandon Rosner (37:20 minute mark) for making what Sykes called, “the single stupidest comment made by a candidate.”  Yes, there was a reminder that Rosner gave money to Democratic Minority Leader Peter Barca while Allen posed for a picture with (Democratish) Sheriff David Clarke. Sykes then read on the air my piece for RightWisconsin about the controversy. Sykes ended the segment by asking, “If this is the audition, what has Brandon Rosner done to himself?”

On Thursday, WISN’s Mark Belling wondered why Alderman Aaron Perry did not answer the Waukesha Freeman’s questions about past presidential elections.  Belling says that, not answering after two attempts by the Freeman to find out who Perry voted for in 2008 and 2012, there was “a red flag” on Perry’s candidacy. “The story was downright weird.”

Belling said the only reason Perry wouldn’t answer the question is that he must have voted for President Barack Obama.

(My own analogy to a pop culture moment would be to compare it to the time Sal “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero wouldn’t join Paulie Walnuts in a steam bath.)

Perry did tell Belling that he voted for John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012, which is what also Perry told me. He also claimed he just ran out of time.

More interesting were Belling’s comments on the state of the race. He said the three candidates he hears are contending are Allen, Rosner and Vince Trovato. Of Rosner, he said that Rosner would be more likely to “take one for the team” rather than stand on principle, while he thought Allen might be the best candidate in the race but did not do enough to separate himself on the issues from the rest of the pack.
