The handcuffs would have made it difficult for her to type
The Waukesha Freeman reported this morning Village of Eagle clerk/treasurer Shirley Mealy was arrested for an alleged fourth OWI just prior to a village board meeting she was expected to attend. She obviously didn’t make it to the meeting.
The newspaper reports Mealy allegedly had a BAC of.12%. Those would have been some interesting meeting minutes.
When Sarah Millard of the Freeman asked Village President Richard Spurrel if the possible felony conviction would affect her job status, he gave one of the better answers from a local politician this year. He said he would have to consult the Human Resources manual.
I’m sure that even if a felony OWI conviction isn’t in the manual, being allegedly too drunk to show up for work will probably have some consequences.
