Wrong picture, James. You’re thinking of Sarah Palin who compares herself to God.
That other imagery is just looking for stuff that isn’t there.
It’s a good thing we’ve never actually had any politicians who purposefully wrap themselves in the flag and link themselves to Christian imagery and metaphor.
