They can’t help themselves

2

Credit the Lovely Doreen from Waukesha for this observation. We’ve all seen the terrible AARP television ad where the ambulance is winding down the road between vehicles. The ambulance is supposed to represent “health care reform” and the vehicles in the way are supposed to be special interests. My wife laughed and said, look at what they consider the scariest vehicles. They’re all SUVs. In the typical liberal special-interest mind, an SUV is the scariest thing they could think of.

If they were really trying to scare Waukesha residents into supporting Obama’s health care plans, it would have been an ambulance stuck at a train with the name of every special interest emblazoned on the rail cars. But liberals like trains. All the AARP commercial did for our family was wonder who made such cool looking SUVs.

By the way, is AARP sure that those SUVs aren’t being driven by upset former AARP members who quit in disgust, trying one last desperate effort to stop the ambulance from going the wrong way? You can almost hear the SUV drivers yelling, “No don’t go that way! That’s a Canadian hospital. The best emergency care is on our side of the border! Oh heck, he might as well drive over Niagra Falls by the time they’re done with him.”

Speaking of special interests and what they saying about health care reform…

This is being distributed by Senator Mitch McConnell’s office:

“But now’s the hard part. Because the history is clear – every time we come close to passing health insurance reform, the special interests with a stake in the status quo use their influence and political allies to scare and mislead the American people.”  (President Obama, Weekly Address, August 15, 2009)
