Waukesha Janboree coming this weekend

This year’s “Janboree” in Waukesha looks especially fun. I hope everyone, even those that live east of 124th street, take advantage of this mid-Winter fun event. It runs January 20th to the 22nd, and many of the events are free.

I’m looking forward to watching the Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin Dog Pull Event on Sunday, January 22nd at Minooka Park 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Free Park Entrance for the day. Stop by to watch an official Alaskan Malamute Dog Pull at Picnic Area 3. This will be an open competition with dogs pulling a cart on pavement up to 3,000 pounds (snow not required for event). For more information or to register your dog, please visit Registration/Weigh-ins 9:00-10:30 am.

The 350-foot “Arctic Avalanche” Toboggan Run is always popular. The planetarium at the Retzer Nature Center is offering an interesting (and indoor) look at the winter sky. Wagon rides. Trolley rides. A penguin egg hunt. Live music. Even fireworks.

More fun than playing with your snowblower.
