Whoever’s going to Vegas stays in Milwaukee
I won’t complain too much, but I’m supposed to be in Las Vegas at the RightOnline Conference. Unfortunately my 6:00 AM flight was a casualty of the flooding.
Updated: July 23, 2010 6:38 a.m. | Mitchell International Airport will be closed until at least 2 p.m. due to flooding on the airfield and roads leading to the airport.
“The water is receding, but not as fast as we hoped,” the airport said on its official Twitter feed.
Like I said, I won’t complain too much. A cancelled trip is really a small burden compared to what many in Milwaukee are going through today.
I had a bad feeling that my trip was in trouble when I stuck waiting for the water to recede at my parent’s home on the northwest side of Milwaukee. (If you go through the intersection of 91st and Denver Avenue, you can thank my father and Dorothy Brengosz who cleared the storm drain.)
If you want to follow some of the happenings at the RightOnline Conference, Fred Dooley escaped before the storms.
