Wigderson and his critics
From today’s Sound Off in the Waukesha Freeman,
Ah, yes, here we go again. There’s a large headline belittling Mayor Jeff Scrima for his absence at the Christmas Parade (Thursday, Nov. 15, by Sarah Pryor). It has been clear for the last three years that is a well-deserved break for him that he spends with his family.
Now, let’s add James Wigderson’s comments to the mix. “Perhaps this year he can be shamed into attending the biggest annual civic event in Waukesha.” Really, James? This is the big one? Not Waukesha’s Freeman Friday Night Live all summer long? Also, your comment that Scrima made a “nonsense remark” … reminds me of your word “emasculate” directed at the district attorney. I vigorously ask you to backpedal and join our mayor in costume for the Santa 5K run/walk on Dec. 9 to benefit the Salvation Army. Stop running at the mouth and put your money there like our mayor does.
– Kay Bern, Waukesha
I like to take well-deserved breaks with my family, too. However, since I started writing for the Waukesha Freeman not a week has gone by without a column.
Ms. Bern has obviously never been to the city of Waukesha Christmas Parade if she has doubts about the crowd size compared to the less-attended Freeman Friday Night Live. Perhaps she should spend less time vacationing with the Scrima family.
As for Waukesha District Attorney Brad Schimel, upon his first prosecution of a public official in Waukesha, or even a mild attempt at enforcing the state’s open meetings law, I shall refrain from commenting on his need for a testicular transplant.
