Democratic writer Jon Anne Willow has mixed feelings about recalling Governor Scott Walker. Willow is especially concerned about the effect of tit-for-tat recall elections: Not torn on whether I believe he is a good governor; I don’t. And not torn on whether his policies, however misguided I think them to be, are set with the […]

state Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate’s Thanksgiving statement seems a little ungrateful, even obnoxious. Let’s not let it bother us today. After all, the God-that-failed, the modern secular welfare state, keeps letting him down, and the people have let him down two years in a row. Tate has a little problem of wondering to whom […]

Happy Thanksgiving from the Wigderson family! An update from the village of Wales this morning. Yesterday’s blood drive was very successful. There were 33 attemping donors and 31 donations. That was 7 more than they were hoping to get. It was very busy when I showed up for my appointment. After I donated, I had the […]

Bucking Thanksgiving tradition But, still finding time to give thanks Every year, Thanksgiving is a time for gathering the family together for turkey, gravy, Polish sausage, cranberries (with the ridges from the can still visible), stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, cottage cheese salad, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, several glasses […] is reporting local television and radio critic, blogger, and journalist, Tim Cuprisin has passed away. The “Candy Tron 2000” spit fire, smoked, shot confetti, and produced peppermint candy for the scouts to hand to the crowd. Congratulations to the scouts and parents of Pack 9! […]

In case you missed it, WISN-AM’s Mark Belling led off his program Friday with a discussion of the protests outside Governor Scott Walker’s home, including a reading of my Waukesha Freeman column (link to podcast.) He started with my column about 11:40 minutes into the program. I think Belling read my column, “Feeling Good About […]

10. Conflict in scheduling with the Festivus parade. 9. Santa Claus has a restraining order. 8. Former Mayor Larry Nelson liked the Christmas parade, so Scrima is against it. 7. He heard Cub Scout Pack 9’s Christmas parade float used fire last year. (He wasn’t there to see it himself.) Scrima is manning the emergency […]

City of Waukesha Jeff Scrima is putting a new spin on the “ghost of Christmas present.” This is the second year in a row that the mayor has skipped the city’s biggest civic event of the year, the Waukesha Christmas Parade. He’s also skipping out on the city Christmas tree lighting ceremony tonight, an event […]
