Maybe Kane could have used one of those editor thingies
Now, I’m not the type that goes looking to be outraged by reading Eugene Kane’s column in the newspaper. I actually think he writes some items that are a lot more thoughtful than most conservatives are willing to give him credit.
If I really want to be outraged, I’ll read the Capital Times to see John Nichols holding the megaphone for Jesse Jackson. (I really would like to know what journalism school taught Nichols that was acceptable.)
However, this “tweet” was really beyond the pale.
Walker is threatening lay-offs, Walker is threatening to call out the National Guard…what, is he trying to be Wisconsin’s own Gadhafi?
I would like to think that a major newspaper like the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel might consider this type of comment by one of their columnists to be unacceptable. I’m not saying he should be fired, but I think even Kane would admit privately that comparing Governor Scott Walker to Muammar Gadhafi is really unprofessional.
If he doesn’t think so, perhaps Politifact should check his work before he tweets again.
