Oh goody, Kevin Kennedy is sending help
So Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus screwed up reporting the city of Brookfield vote totals, and now the Government Accountability Board is sending someone to check it out. This is like sending the Three Stooges to investigate Laurel and Hardy.
Fortunately they won’t have to drive very far to verify the city of Brookfield’s vote total. Thanks to something called “the Internet” we can read Lisa Sink’s article on Patch.com from election night with the city of Brookfield’s vote total.
(I’ll assume for the moment that Sink is not part of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. She doesn’t have the right decoder ring, and doesn’t even know the Elephant Tusk gang sign.)
By sheer coincidence, the same “Internet” also lets us see the election results that were posted by the clerk in the city of Brookfield, Kristine Schmidt, the night of the election, too.
I know, it’s amaaaazing.
It’s almost as if 14,315 people conspired ahead of time with Kathy Nickolaus to show up at the polls on Tuesday and vote just so she could make herself look like an idiot.
I sympathize with the Democrats on this one. I really do. But there is no conspiracy here, as even former Feingold flak Jud Lounsbury admits.
However, that is still not preventing groups like One Wisconsin Now from shamelessly provoking leftist paranoia for their fundraising:

David Prosser’s cronies are now engaging in the biggest voter fraud in the history of Wisconsin. And we will not let them get away with it.
Tuesday, the people of Wisconsin took away David Prosser’s seat on the Supreme Court. And yesterday, the Waukesha County Clerk, Kathy Nickolaus, served as Prosser’s sleazy accomplice trying to steal it back.
We have had to endure lies and treachery in Fitzwalkerstan, but nothing like this. The actual attempted theft of an election.
You know the news – but I want to give you the research we did that we got to the media across the state. We’re also including new information you can use to inform your friends and family.
I have to remind you, we rely on your support to do the work we do. Dollar by dollar, your help finances our research, legal filings and open records requests. Today, more than at any moment, we need your support for our Judicial Ethics and Integrity Project. We are all angry, and we need to get mobilized.
Here’s what we had dug up and some of what our team also put together over night. First and foremost, Nickolaus worked for the Assembly Republican Caucus when Prosser was the Assembly Leader. You don’t have to be a political science professor to know this means Prosser was her boss. Now, she implausibly finds 7,500 more votes for Prosser. But there’s more:
- Nickolaus dismissed an independent audit commissioned over concerns there are massive security threats in her current system. Nickolaus, who maintains a secret system for keeping public voting data, condescendingly laughed off the audit, drawing an irate reaction from the Waukesha County Board chair.
- Nickolaus was one of two database experts for Assembly Republicans, spending 13 years becoming one of the state’s leading partisan experts on manipulating voter data.
- Nickolaus was in charge of developing a computer program that “averaged the performance of Republicans in all statewide races for the previous eight years in each ward and then averaged that information for each city, township, county and district,” making her claim of human error even more ridiculous.
We’ll send more, but we wanted to give you something ASAP.
We moved quickly at One Wisconsin Now, and we will continue this work. But we need your help. Please support our ongoing Judicial Integrity and Ethics Project. Consider a $72 contribution to support our work in all 72 Wisconsin counties.
One Wisconsin Now is calling for a full investigation and we will use all means at our disposal to preserve democracy in Wisconsin. This threat is real. We must be relentless.
PS: Actions are being planned and we are consulting with partners and legal experts about next steps. All of this, your contribution today will support.
I think there may be grounds here for Kathy Nickolaus to sue One Wisconsin Now for libel.
