Recall effort against Governor Scott Walker to begin November 15

Democrats are going to begin their recall efforts against Governor Scott Walker on November 15th. They’ll have until January 13th to collect the necessary 540,208 signatures.

Start calling them “Democrats for Global Warming.”

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn’t show signs of stopping
And I’ve bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight
How I’ll hate going out in the storm!
But if you’ll really hold me tight
All the way home I’ll be warm

The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we’re still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Coincidentally, that’s also during the time when local candidates collect their petition signatures to get on the ballot for the spring elections. It’s also when local governments and school districts will be mailing out property tax bills. And of course it’s the holiday season.

The good news for Democrats is that former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk (D-Madison) is going to run against Walker. Personally, I don’t think you can have enough Madison Democrats running for statewide office. Falk was last seen by statewide voters being a sore loser in her race against Attorney General JB Van Hollen. Of course, if she runs for governor she might have to give up her night job.

Maybe JoAnne Kloppenburg should consider running.
