Sprager meeting called by BID board members
Tomorrow’s column for the Waukesha Freeman (still just 50 cents!) is about the resignation of Waukesha Business Improvement District Executive Director Meghan Sprager. In the column that appears tomorrow, I mention that the BID will probably meet in the next couple of days to discuss the reasons behind her resignation.
The action takes place Monday morning, 7:30 AM, in the Rotunda. I received the following email from Jeff Barta, BID board member:
I delivered this letter to Kerry Mackay at about 5:15pm this evening. This matter needs to be addressed asap.

As provided for in our BID byelaws Article 3.07, two BID Board Members can request a special meeting of the BID Board, by submitting the request in writing to the Secretary of the BID. Jeff Barta and Christine Vander Bloemen are calling for a special meeting of the BID Board to discuss the resignation of our Executive Director Meghan Sprager. Meghan cited a hostile work environment as her reason for leaving. While I’m not surprised at her decision I am very disappointed. This is a serious matter, I think it important for us as a Board to address this issue immediately and decisively.
The Board has a responsibility to discuss how this happened and how to make sure it doesn’t ever happen again. The circumstances surrounding Meghan’s departure from the BID are unacceptable and require immediate action from the Board. As 72 hours notice is required for BID Board meetings, the earliest we can meet on a weekday is this Monday August, 27th. We have arranged to have the rotunda available at 7:30 am on Monday.
