Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker’s campaign for governor, who has vowed to kill the train project, released the following statement:
Today, Scott Walker, Milwaukee County executive and candidate for governor, released a statement on tonight’s meeting in Brookfield on the proposed $810 million boondoggle. Yesterday, Scott Walker’s campaign released a television ad alongside a new campaign website: www.NoTrain.com, and held a rally near the crumbling Hoan Bridge.
“Yesterday, I was joined by nearly 300 Wisconsin citizens to say ‘Yes We Can’ stop this $810 million boondoggle train,” said Walker. “I’m glad the citizens of Brookfield will have the chance tonight to let their voices be heard, and together, we will derail this project and advocate for this money to be spent on roads and bridges instead.”
