Supervisor Alexander raises the appointment question in judicial race

On her Facebook page, Milwaukee County Supervisor Deanna Alexander asked an interesting question in the race between Judge Rebecca Bradley and Janet Protasiewicz:

There are some that feel like Judge Rebecca Bradley was “handpicked” as if that’s a negative thing; but I have to ask, does this allegation mean that Bradley’s opponent would have turned down the job if she had been “handpicked”?Isn’t it an honor to be offered an appointment? Clearly it’s supposed to be some negative thing to be picked by the Governor – particularly Governor Scott Walker; but let’s ask just one more question – is there any other way to get the job mid-term? No, I don’t think there is. So, the Guv had to pick someone, he picked who he thought would be best for the job, and somehow that’s a bad thing.

Pardon my sarcasm as I step aside to say, “I’m sorry, you’re right, it’s much better to be not picked by the appointing authority and then to poke fun at the person who was chosen.”

Congrats Judge Bradley, and best of providence to you in tomorrow’s election!
