Our thoughts and prayers go to former Waukesha alderman (and occasional commenter here) Randy Radish, who is recovering from a stroke. According to the Waukesha Freeman this morning, Former Waukesha Alderman Randy Radish is in the hospital after suffering a stroke over the weekend, said his older sister Kris Radish. Randy Radish, 55, will be […]

I’ve been receiving a lot of positive feedback off-line on this column in the Waukesha Freeman and on this blog post.  Thanks.  I really appreciate it. I don’t want you to miss this comment from Alderman Randy Radish, who wrote in part, You are correct about the tunnel comment. The same is true for the […]

Randy Radish – 427 Darryl Enriquez – 1039 Larry Nelson – 1271 Bill Beglinger – 633 Jeff Scrima – 1830 Write-in – 12 As you may have seen in today’s Waukesha Freeman, the counting got screwed up again. These are the numbers that were forwarded in an e-mail from Darryl Enriquez to his supporters. Someday […]

Who’s the winner?  I guess, me.  I get to write about this election.  One thing is certain: I won’t run out of material. Perhaps the correct expression, given the circumstances, is a Morton’s Fork.  From Wikipedia: A Morton’s Fork is a choice between two equally unpleasant alternatives (in other words, a dilemma), or two lines of reasoning […]

Waukesha voters have five choices in tomorrow’s primary election for mayor. The incumbent, Larry Nelson, I dealt with at length in my newspaper column. Of course, I tell them, anybody can be beat. It just takes the right circumstances. I […]

I missed this afternoon’s forum for Waukesha mayor at Oak Hill Terrace.  I understand a few sparks flew, including from some residents upset that dinner was late. Things we learned today: 1. Mayor Larry Nelson taught at the Garrett Morris School for the Hard of Hearing in New York. 2. Alderman Randy Radish.  Yeah, what […]

Former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Darryl Enriquez pulled the papers today for a run for mayor of Waukesha.  Enriquez joins Alderman Randy Radish, Bill Beglinger, Jonathan Cox, and Peggy Sue Smith in challenging incumbent Mayor Larry Nelson.  For some reason none of them are willing to seek the Democratic nomination for governor. Just spoke with Waukesha Mayor Larry Nelson. Nelson said we can move him from the “likely” column to the “definite” column for running for re-election and he will formally announce in early November. Nelson confirmed he has been speaking to people to plan his re-election. He also said he fully expects to see a full […]
