Who will stand up for workers’ rights now?

1

WEAC, the largest teachers union in the state of Wisconsin, has announced it will lay off 40% of their employees. Clearly what those WEAC employees need is a better union, someone who will stand up for their rights and demand the powerful, like Mary Bell, pay their fair share. How can the middle class white collar union employee survive if the members and the union leadership aren’t willing to give just a little bit more?

My advice to the remaining WEAC employees is to organize protests immediately and demand the recall of every last union leader until all of their union brothers and sisters return to work. It’s not like they don’t know the chants.

“One, two, three, four, recall them all!” “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Mary Bell has got to go!” “We are WEAC!” Now that’s what democracy looks like.

Where is Jesse Jackson? Where is Tony Shalhoub? Where is Michael Moore? Where are the Solidarity Singers?

It’s time to march on the WEAC offices and demand justice!

WEAC President Mary Bell, oppressor of the worker SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Maybe they could just sell their building?
