WisOpinion: A month

The state leadership of both parties expect to have the budget reconciled in less than a month. What can only happen at the speed of the Fall of France? Was last year’s stout budget defense the Republican version of the Maginot line?

Whatever optimism I have for the Assembly Republicans this November is tempered by the presence of Vichy within their ranks. Look for the hospital tax to pass and health care premiums to go up across the state for everyone.

I think Fraley is right in this respect: if Kreuser runs for Kenosha County Executive, it means he’s done the numbers and the assembly will remain in Republican hands. If he stays in the assembly it’s because he expects to be Assembly Speaker.
