“No, I’m drunk”

Daniel Samplaski was doing his part to reduce gas consumption on the freeways.  He was arrested for OWI while driver a scooter 5 mph through the Marquette Interchange, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Daniel Samplaski pleaded guilty Thursday to driving a three-wheeled electric scooter in the Marquette Interchange while drunk.

Samplaski, 36, was arrested Sept. 11 on a ramp downtown leading to eastbound I-794, one of the freeway’s busiest sections. He was traveling about 5 mph.

According to a criminal complaint, a Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputy asked him if he was impaired.

“No,” he said, according to the complaint. “I’m drunk.”

He has a bright career ahead of him in the state legislature. Seriously, would you rather have his scooter coming at you or a 1998 Buick Skylark?
